The term “boudoir”, in days gone by, referred to the private dressing and bathing room of a woman. It is derived from a French verb whose root word means, “ to pout”. “Boudoir Photography” describes a revealing style of photography that may imply nudity but in which the subject is typically wearing under garments. The apparrel chosen may be simple to eleborate, scantily clad to fully dressed. Q. What is sepia tone photography?
During the 1700’s, sepia tones were achieved simply as a byproduct of the photograph print preservation process, not as a medium intentionally used to cause impact and drama.
Sepia is a reddish brown pigment extracted and prepared from the sepia cuttlefish. This pigment applied to photographs caused a chemical reaction to occur that resulted in an effective preservation method.
Sepia tone today is a technique used to add impact and drama to a photograph. This technique replicates the appearance of the reddish brown tones present in the photographs of yesteryear. “Comp” is an abbreviation for the word composite. Composite means made up of separate parts or elements. Model comp photography is a photography session with a model or prospective model for the purpose of achieving a diverse, impressive and complete composite portfolio. It is important to contract a photographer who is skilled at working with inexperienced as well as experienced models. Several photographs are done with a variety of poses, settings, styles, effects and stages of dress to enhance the talents of the subject. Do: Apply heavy foundation layer with a finishing powder over face, neck and upper chest. Choose eye makeup in lighter color shades and apply as for formal eveningwear. Apply blush and lip color heavier than usual with lip color a shade darker than normal.
